For over two centuries, the name Gobind Ram Kahan Chand has symbolised quality, trust, and authenticity. Founded way back in 1805 by Mr. Gobind Ram Bhatia, GRKC has grown from its humble beginnings in Lahore to becoming the leading FMCG player today.

Our story is one of business growth but also of preserving a legacy that embodies cultural richness merged with modern innovation. We are proud to continue, in this way, a tradition that has stood the test of time and always managed to continue the standard in delivering products that would be honoured and respectful of the past while embracing the future.
Even today, a building in Lahore's Rang Mahal still carries the words "Gobind Ram Kahan Chand" and "Hindustan Commercial Bank Established 1805" in both English and Urdu, something to prove that we still have an enduring legacy. This building, though half-burnt and never fully operational as a bank branch, serves as a powerful reminder of the rich cultural and historical presence we once had in the bustling streets of Lahore. Stories about his influence as one of the wealthiest and most reputed traders of sharbat, achaar, and chutney in that district have been resonating through generations of local families' tale-telling. Gobind Ram Kahan Chand is the name one instantly recalls from the legendary pages of a well-known
TV series Buniyaad and Pran Neville's book Lahore: A Sentimental Journey. It evokes an inextricably interwoven nostalgic sentiment so that we feel it rooted within the cultural and historical tapestry of pre-partition India. Our roots shine through in the creation of something beautiful and take us all the way to the noisy streets of Kasera Bazar in Lahore. We continue to stand by the values and standards that have characterised us for centuries. Whether it be a foray into our history or an opportunity to work with us, we welcome you on board as you explore why GRKC has come to be reputed as one of the most dependable names in the world of third-party manufacturing.

Founded and established in Lahore in 1805 by Mr. Gobind Ram Bhatia, and as chronicled in Pran Nevile's "Lahore: A Sentimental Journey," we began producing exquisite Sharbats, Jams, Pickles, Murabbas, and Ayurvedic Products. After more than two centuries, GRKC remains a testament to excellence and heritage. Every bottle, from the first sip to the last drop, carries the essence and purity of 1805.

To disrupt the evolving Indian market, we commenced our industrial setup in Delhi’s first food park on Lawrence Road, under the brand name GK. The goal was to specialise in manufacturing mouth-watering Sharbats and Ayurvedic Medicines with uncompromising quality.

Building on our success in Syrups and Herbal Medicines in Delhi, we expanded operations in the early 1990s. A pivotal partnership with Modern Foods in Uttar Pradesh marked the beginning of our journey in contract biscuit manufacturing with a substantial production capacity reaching 1,000 tonnes per month.

With a vision of delivering traditional Indian flavours, we launched our first confectionery brand, Golmatol Candy, for children aged 5 to 15 years. The brand was designed to serve a dual purpose: being digestive in nature while guaranteeing a smooth taste and a lasting experience. This move marked our entry into the sweets market, and our production capacity quickly grew to 4,000 tonnes per month.

Growth in the Biscuit division began with 3 more plants dedicated to biscuits, boasting an additional monthly capacity of 3,000 MT for Modern foods (Hindustan Unilever).

We entered the spice industry through a strategic collaboration with the DS Group to deliver high-quality spices. This partnership enabled us to diversify our product range and offerings by achieving a remarkable production capacity of 300 tonnes per month, which grew to 1,000 tonnes per month by 2014.

Our collaboration with the DS Group helped us to disrupt the confectionery industry with Pulse Candies. The Pulse Candy became an overnight success, leading us to manufacture 300 tonnes of candies per month. Simultaneously, we began manufacturing biscuits for Patanjali in Hyderabad, further expanding our production capabilities and market reach. To accommodate the growing demand, we established a dedicated confectionery plant in 2015 with a capacity of 300 tonnes per month. Our partnership with Patanjali further deepened in 2016 with the creation of a dedicated plant, boosting our production capacity to 1,000 tonnes per month.

Following the establishment of a flour mill for Patanjali in 2015, our partnership grew even stronger as we commenced a dedicated unit in Bihar to manufacture biscuits for Patanjali with a capacity of 3000 Tonnes per month.

We relocated and upgraded our confectionery plant, doubling production capacity to 600 tonnes per month. We also invested in a new spice production line, increasing capacity by an additional 600 tonnes per month. These expansions showcase our commitment to meet the growing demands of the market and solidify our position in both confectionery and spices.

With our exceptional efforts and constant expansion, GRKC's revenue surged by 200% in 2023-2024, highlighting our strategic prowess. Our success reflects our dedication to excellence and innovation.

Even as we expand into new territories, GRKC remains a company where tradition meets innovation. It's a heritage that reflects not just what we were but what forms the foundation for building what we are going to be. We take pride in building products imbued with the essence of the rich legacy we carry, even as the evolving preferences of our customers give us that impetus to adapt and change. Whether it is the authentic Sharbats that make us a household name or our venture in biscuits, confectionery, or spices, each GRKC product is made with love, care, expert craftsmanship, and a commitment to quality.
The commitment we have towards principles of quality, integrity, and transparency. These are integral values for everything ranging from new product development to relations with partners and customers.
The best products, continuing a path toward exceptional standards. As we grow, so do our visions—maintaining the legacy of Gobind Ram Kahan Chand, preserving the values which he held dearly.
